What Does Domestic
Violence, Abuse Or Family Terror Against
Women Cost Employers?
1. Your
employees are showing
up for work injured and working with these injuries. Surely,
the
job that the employee is doing while injured is not of the
same
quality of work that the employee would do if they were not injured.
2. The
attendance of your
employees is affected by the injuries that are being endured by the
victim. So when you get to work with plans of accomplishing
certain tasks and you find out your employee is not going to be at work
today, it costs you in lost time.
3. If
the employee is working
after being injured by domestic violence, abuse or family terror, the
recent beating in on the employee's mind instead of the job that you
are paying them to perform.
4. If
your employees are
visited on the job by the abuser that has harmed them, your business
will be at risk for violence happening on your property and other
employees could get involved and be hurt.
5.
Safety issues could be a
concern as the employee's mind is on other things and maybe not paying
close attention so that they are hurt or other employees are at risk
because of the battered worker.
6.
Your employee might quit
their job because they are afraid and need to hide from the abuser.
Thus leaving you to lose the investment you have made in
training
this employee plus the expenses you will pay to train the replacement
worker.
7.
Will the expense for group
medical insurance for your employees be affected by the additional
medical expenses because of the battered employee?
This topic is
addressed as well as many more in the book Family
Terror.
