Making Your Plan Of Escape
From Domestic Violence, Abuse
or Family Terror
Let me make something very clear to you. You do not need a
plan to get away. You can leave anytime.
I also know from
my own experience that if you are a victim of domestic violence, abuse
or family terror, that you will have a difficult time believing that
you can leave at any time. The truth is that you can leave
with absolutely nothing. What you need will be provided for
you at the shelter.
Making a plan
will help however to get used to the idea of getting away. As
you think about the steps that need to be included in your plan of
escape, you mentally become closer to actually escaping. The
reality of actually escaping begins to feel more comfortable with each
additional step of the plan being defined.
The very idea of
making an escape plan puts the ultimate escape into motion.
